SUMMER REGULAR CLASSES

 REGULAR ART CLASSES 2010

AFTERNOONS, between 1:00 to 7:00 pm.

1 & 1/4 HOUR PER WEEK FOR  6 WEEKS

Only two classes are offered in the summer.  For those who were with me in the past we offer WATER COLOR CLASSES.  For those signing up for the first time, we offer BASIC DRAWING CLASSES.   Summer Basic Drawing students continue with BASIC COLOR in September, if they go on.   Each class meets in the afternoon for 1 &1/4 hour for 6 weeks. Cost of regular sessions is $110.00.  Cost of multiple children, same family is $100.00 per child.

Vacation Scheduling is same as always - there is a Session 1 and a Session 2These sessions are not for students to take 'two classes during the summer' but to facilitate family vacation times.  If you are taking family vacation in the beginning of the Summer, then Session 2 is best.  If you are taking family vacation at the end of Summer, then Session 1 is best.  If you are taking vacation around the 4th of July, BOTH sessions are off for 2 weeks in July (see below).  Time of day for each session is set by parents request of 'best times' on sign up sheet.  Class times tend to be set by the earliest registers.  See sign up sheet, regular sessions for further information.

    SESSION 1 (7 JUNE TO 31 JULY)
- 28 June through 10 July are OFF for 4th of July vacations

   SESSION 2 (12 JULY TO 21 AUGUST)
- 28 June through 10 July are OFF for 4th of July vacations.

Sign-ups for Session 2 continue until Friday, 10 JULY

CONTINUING STUDENTS - WATER COLOR SESSIONS 1 & 1/4 hour per week for 6 weeks. The water color sessions are for those students who already have taken the regular School year sessions and wish to do summer classes Classes. All material is supplied.

FIRST TIME STUDENTS - BASIC DRAWING SESSION 1 & 1/4 hour per week for 6 weeks This session is for those starting out in the continuing program of art instruction which goes through the school year. It introduces the student to the basic terms of geometry and shows how artists use 'center lines and extremes' to draw anything they want. The students learn to draw a simple cartoon human figure from all view points, as well as how to draw in ink. This session, using simple cartooning of the human figure, shows children how artist's 'figure things out' and how these principles are underneath all other aspects of art. It is not a 'copy this from the board' class. A great many new students for next school year, begin in Summer sessions. In September, they go on to 'Basic Color'.
